STANDARD FORM FOR ACTOR BIOS
In an effort to standardize the look of our program, and to make sure that it
reflects the professionalism evident in the rest of the production, we are asking
that everyone follow one standard format for their bios. Please look at the
sample below to see the “style” and formatting we use. Any help you can give us
in following this style would be appreciated.
IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR BIO AS A “WORD” ATTACHMENT
VIA E-MAIL to [email protected]. THAT WOULD MAKE MY JOB OF
PUTTING THE PROGRAM TOGETHER MUCH EASIER. Thank you.
LENGTH: No longer than 150 words (1/2 - 3/4 page double spaced typing or
one full page handwritten). Please keep in mind that the amount of space we
have in Footlights is limited. We will edit your bio if necessary, but we would
prefer it if you would determine what credits you wish to have listed.
CONTENT: (In order as applicable)
1. First Folio credits
2. Other Chicago area credits (please include name of character if a
leading role,) title of play, theater name, and any awards
3. Broadway, off-Broadway, off-off-Broadway (role/play/theater)
4. Resident, touring, stock performances (same)
5. Professional film credits
6. Major TV credits (show and network)
7. Other credits (directing, etc.) as approved by the Director or
Producer
First Folio reserves the right to edit all bios for space and style considerations,
but will make every effort to allow the actor an opportunity to approve the final
draft of the bio.
