Dear Customers,
We are dedicated to climate and environmentally
friendly public mobility with our many partners. A sus-
tainable trac revolution can, after all, only succeed
with attractive and high-quality local public transport
(ÖPNV) that is simple, flexible, and innovative. We rely
on climate-friendly drive technologies and oer people
in the city as well as in rural areas networked mobi-
lity solutions. This brochure presents our selection of
tickets - no matter if you are using public transport fre-
quently or only intend to travel by bus and train occa-
sionally. You will learn the price levels available for the
various tickets. Pages 20 and 21 contain an overview of
the network tari region. We have included a QR code
on the last page to make sure that you will always know
who to contact if you have any concerns regarding pub-
lic transport. This will take you to the website where the
addresses of the distribution points of the respective
transport company are linked.

DeutschlandTicket
Buying in the VRR - travel nationwide: Going any-
where in Germany by bus or train, without having to think
about city or transport network boundaries? Protecting
the climate and environment at the same time? That‘s
become really easy.
The DeutschlandTicket subscription for 49.00 euros per
month is available as a chip card or a digital ticket on
your smartphone. You can purchase the DeutschlandTic-
ket via the VRR App, the transport companies‘ apps, at
the KundenCenters, or at the sales outlets in your area.
You can carry your flatrate for local public transport in
your pocket this way, using buses and trains anywhere in
Germany whenever, wherever, and as often as you want.
Who can profit from the DeutschlandTicket?
The DeutschlandTicket will pay o if you travel by bus
and train in the VRR, in NRW, or even anywhere else
in Germany. It is particularly useful for commuters and
frequent travellers who want to travel comfortably by
bus and train while protecting the environment. The
DeutschlandTicket is a personalised ticket that cannot
be transferred to any other persons.
What kinds of public transport will you
be able to use?
It can be used for all local public transport vehicles
in Germany, i.e., all buses, trams, light rail and sub-
way trains as well as to travel in 2nd class in any city
trains, regional trains, and regional express trains. The
DeutschlandTicket cannot be used for any long-dis-
tance trains (e.g., ICE, IC, EC) or with any private pro-
viders such as FlixTrain.

DeutschlandTicket Schule
What is the DeutschlandTicket Schule?
The DeutschlandTicket Schule is a discounted bus and
train ticket (chip card) for pupils. Pupils can use the
ticket to travel all day, to school and in their free time
alike. The ticket is valid anywhere in Germany around
the clock.
How do I get the DeutschlandTicket Schule and
what does it cost?
The prerequisite for a DeutschlandTicket Schule is that
the school authority of your school has contractually
chosen the DeutschlandTicket Schule. If the route to the
nearest school is longer than 3.5 km, you may be entitled
to travel expense coverage. For primary school children,
the required distance is only 2 km. For upper secondary
schools, the limit is 5 km. Please contact your school‘s
secretary directly to verify eligibility and receive the cor-
responding application. Entitled persons will only pay
the legally required shares (EUR 7.00 or EUR 14.00 per
child). If you do not have any claim to transport expense
coverage, you can purchase a DeutschlandTicket Schu-
le for your child as a self-payer at EUR 29.00 in a sub-
scription that can be terminated every month. You can
find an application at www.vrr.de.
Can I continue using a SchokoTicket if the school
authority of my school has chosen the Deutschland-
Ticket Schule?
If the school authority chooses the DeutschlandTicket
Schule, pupils of the respective school can only use
the DeutschlandTicket Schule anymore. This applies to
claim holders as well as to self-payers. The ticket switch
enlarges the area of application without any financial
disadvantages.
Can I purchase a DeutschlandTicket even if my
school has still chosen the SchokoTicket?
You can terminate your current SchokoTicket with your
transport company and purchase a regular Deutsch-
landTicket there.

DeutschlandTicket Sozial
What is the DeutschlandTicket Sozial?
The DeutschlandTicket Sozial is a discounted bus and
rail ticket for eligible customers. The ticket is valid any-
where in Germany around the clock.
What does the DeutschlandTicket Sozial cost and
how long is it valid?
You can purchase the DeutschlandTicket Sozial for
EUR 39.00 in a subscription that can be cancelled
every month. If you no longer need it, you can terminate
your DeutschlandTicket free of charge by the 10th day
of a month, eective at the end of the month. If you
do not terminate it, it will be renewed month by month
and the amount of EUR 39.00 will be debited from your
account accordingly. Example: If you no longer wish to
use the DeutschlandTicket Sozial from March onwards,
terminate it by 10 February with the transport company
from which you bought it.
How can I purchase the DeutschlandTicket Sozial?
You are eligible for the DeutschlandTicket Sozial,
among other things, if you receive unemployment be-
nefits II and social benefits (SGB II), social assistance
(SGB XII), housing benefit, or if you are entitled to bene-
fits under SGB VIII, benefits under the Asylum Seekers
Benefits Act (Asylbewerberleistungsgesetz), or benefits
under the Federal Pensions Act (Bundesversorgungs-
gesetz).
You are not certain whether you are eligible for the
DeutschlandTicket Sozial?
Inquire from your local authority in your city. They will
also provide the required certificate of eligibility (car-
rier card) or a notice for purchasing a DeutschlandTic-
ket Sozial to you. Take this certificate of eligibility to
your transport company and obtain the Deutschland-
Ticket Sozial there.

Out and about with eezy bus and train
eezy VRR lets you start your journey on the bus or train
spontaneously. You can pay right with your Smart-
phone. How does it work? A new check-in and check-
out system calculates the fare based on your distance
travelled in linear distance. You will only be charged
for the shortest distance between start and end stops!
How does eezy work?

download the VRR app or the app of a transport
company from the Google Play Store or the App Store

register in the apps ticket shop, file your means of
payment, switch on GPS, and activate mobile data

Check in - travel - check out

The fare will be charged automatically after your ride
What does eezy cost?
A basic fee of EUR 1.64 will be charged per trip with
eezy VRR. The fare per linear kilometre or part on a line-
ar kilometre, charged at EUR 0.27, will be added to this.
Does eezy VRR have any built-in cost protection?
VRR has a practical price cap per ride. If the ride with
eezy VRR would be more expensive than the regular
VRR EinzelTicket at the required price level, the fare
will be reduced to that of the respective EinzelTicket
price. The maximum to be paid per month is capped
at EUR 49.00.
Would you like to travel anywhere in NRW?
It‘s no problem with eezy!
The new eezy fare will let you travel easily anywhere in
NRW. Check in comfortably at the starting stop befo-
re setting out and check out again at your destination
stop. The app will also automatically calculate the cor-
rect fare for journeys anywhere in NRW.

Important notes
Timetable app
Would you like to travel by bus and rail and do you need
information and services for your journey? With the VRR
timetable app and the timetable apps from the local
transport companies for iOS and Android you can al-
ways have your own personal travel companion with
you. Simply enter your starting location and your final
destination and the app will show the local transport
connections you need to take. If there should be any
service interruptions during your journey, you shall be
informed of this on your smartphone. You can download
the apps from the respective app stores.
Pet transport
Pets may be taken along free of charge on local public
transport and SPNV both in the VRR and anywhere in
NRW. Safety and order of the operation as well as pas-
sengers travelling with the vehicle must not be impaired
by taking along pets.
33
Bicycle transport
Generally speaking, the transport companies are hap-
py to take along your bicycle. In the interest of all pas-
sengers, however, this will depend on the time of day,
trac volume, and the available space. Therefore, plea-
se enquire in advance about the respective rules of your
transport company. If you want to carry a bicycle in the
network area, you generally need a FahrradTicket that
will be valid for 24 hours after validation. Some tickets
include bicycle transport in the ticket features, however.
Pages 14 and 15 will tell you whether your ticket allows
you to take along a bike free of charge, or whether you
need a FahrradTicket. For a day trip beyond the borders
of the network tari area, you can use the FahrradTages-
Ticket NRW in combination with a cash ticket or time
ticket of the VRR or any other ticket of the NRW tari.
KombiTicket
The KombiTicket combines the ticket for admission to
an event with a ticket for transport on the VRR network.
If you attend events such as conferences, concerts,
sporting events or amusement parks, then in some
cases your admission ticket also serves as a bus and
train ticket.
It is easy to find out if this is the case just by taking a
look at your ticket. If it is also valid as a KombiTicket,
this will be written on the ticket.
The tickets are valid on the day of the event and are
good for the trip to and from the event location. You
can obtain your KombiTicket from the event organi-
ser or its vendors and at all sales point that have a
KombiTicket logo.
The KombiTickets entitle the holder to travel in 2
nd
class
on any buses, trams, light rail vehicles, city trains, the
Wuppertal suspension railway, and the surcharge-free
trains of the railway companies for the respective areas
of validity.
34
Mobility guarantee
We always want to bring you to your destination spee-
dily. If we are ever unable to do so, e.g. due to con-
gestion, parking oenders, or vehicle issues, you will
profit from the mobility guarantee that we oer for all
VRR- and NRW-tari tickets.
It applies when the local transport you want to use is
cancelled or if it is at least 20 minutes behind sche-
dule when leaving the departure stop. You must get on
the alternative means of transport chosen within 60
minutes. If you use an IC/EC or ICE, a taxi or a sharing
option (e.g. car, bike, e-scooter sharing, on-demand
transport) for your trip instead, we will reimburse part
of the additional costs arising for it.
Users of the Ticket2000 or BärenTicket can receive up
to EUR 60.00 around the clock. Users of other tickets
will receive up to EUR 30.00 between 5 a.m. and 8
p.m., and up to EUR 60.00 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
To claim this reimbursement, simply submit your applica-
