To form the plural nouns in Spanish follow this simple rules:
1. If the noun ends with a vowel (a,e,i,o,u), add letter S to the singular form.
Example: Gorro - Gorros (hats)
2. If the noun ends in consonant, add ES to the singular form of the noun.
Example: Pantalón - pantalones (pants)
3. If the noun ends in z, change z for C and add ES to the singular form of the noun.
Example: Pez - Peces (fish)
4. If the noun ends with “s” or “x” , it does not change in the plural.
Example: lunes - lunes tijeras-tijeras (scissors) tórax - tórax (thorax/chest)
Note: Singular nouns which end in an accented vowel (‘) drop the accent in the plural.
