Electrical Engineer (Entry-Level)
Vescent Photonics seeks an entry-level electrical engineer to join its highly skilled engineering
team. The successful candidate will learn to master valuable electronics skills, such as
schematic capture, board layout, and circuit troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will be a highly
motivated, detail-oriented problem solver who is stoked to learn new skills and apply them to
solve challenging problems. Vescent is a small, fast-growing company located in the Denver
area that designs and manufactures cutting-edge laser systems for scientific and OEM markets.

Job Duties:
• Work as part of a small team of engineers to support development of analog, digital, and
mixed signal electronics for new products and contract programs.
• Assist senior-level engineers with PCBA design, including schematic capture.
• Perform PCB layout, and work with the engineering team to capture design constraints in
the layout process.
• Perform circuit simulations as necessary during schematic capture and layout.
• Oversee parts acquisition, fabrication, and assembly of prototype PCBs.
• Perform bring-up, troubleshooting, and design verification testing of prototype circuit boards.
• Work closely with the product development team to generate hardware requirements,
produce documentation, review designs, and create test plans.
• Assist with software development by documenting interfaces and developing IC drivers.
Required Qualifications:
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Experience building and testing electronics circuits, including working with soldering
stations, oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, and multi-meters.
• Good understanding of op-amp design principles, frequency-domain analysis, and noise
modeling.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Desired Skills:
• Experience with an ECAD tool (Altium, Eagle, OrCad, etc.)
• Circuit modeling in SPICE
• Creating, managing, and ordering a Bill of Materials for PCBs
• Circuit design experience with feedback control, mixed signals, and/or opto-electronics
• Digital circuits and microcontrollers
• Embedded programming in C
• Knowledge of a scripting language such as Python
