REGISTER YOUR VEHICLE EVERY TWO YEARS
~A new time saving convenience ~
TALLAHASSEE—The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles continues to find
innovative ways to to improve customer service and offer more convenience options. Motorists can now
choose to renew their vehicle registration for two years rather than doing it each year.
Now, when a motorist chooses the two-year renewal, they will receive a license plate decal with an additional
year added to the expiration date. For example, if your expiration date is February 2008 and you request the
two-year renewal period, your new expiration date will be January 2010. Through August, more than 490,239
customers have taken advantage of this convenient option. Biennial registration also is available online at
www.GoRenew.com.
“Thanks to the Legislature, our residents now have the option to save time by renewing only once every two
years, rather than each year. Vehicle owners will still be required to renew their tags by their birthdays, as
usual, but those who opt to renew for two years get to skip a year,” said Carl Ford, Director of the Division of
Motor Vehicles.
For added convenience, the Department encourages motorists to conduct their business transactions online by
logging on to www.GoRenew.com. Customers can renew their vehicle registration, driver license, disabled
parking permit, or mobile home registration as well as notify the Department of an address change from the
comfort of their own home.
