On-Street Parking Program
Many streets have rush hour parking restrictions from
7-9 AM and 4-6 PM. Vehicles will be towed if parked
on restricted streets during these times.
Take the Time to Read the Signs
On-street spaces allow a maximum of 2 hours of parking. Rates for on-street spaces are $1.50 per hour. Pay Stations and
Smart Meters accept nickels, dimes, quarters, and the Charlotte token. Parking at meters is free after 6 PM and Sundays.
Be aware of restricted parking during special events and the bright orange NO PARKING signage and/or bagged meters.
EV Charging Stations
Electric vehicle charging stations can be found in
the CMGC parking deck and other locations
throughout the community. All are available to
the public. To avoid a citation, you must be
actively charging the vehicle if parking at a
location requiring paid parking.
The City of Charlotte enacted legislation to allow
for scofflaw vehicles to be immobilized through
the use of a wheel lock. A scofflaw is referred to
as an illegally parked vehicle bearing a license
tag for which there are three or more unpaid and
overdue parking citations for 90 days or more.
The boot will be removed once all outstanding
scofflaw tickets have been paid. Tickets may be
paid at the Park It Office Monday through Friday.
If the citation is not paid by 5 PM the day of the
boot, the vehicle will be towed and the operator
must pay all towing fees.
Booting
Vehicles will be towed during restricted times.
Most streets have peak time parking restrictions
from 7-9 AM or 4-6 PM. The uptown division
wrecker service provider is Eastway Wrecker

Persons with outstanding tickets must pay the
ticket that caused the tow, the tow fee, and any
